Kim Robbins (scaler), Lyle Smit (log truck driver), and unknown scaler's assistant consent to a photograph in front of a large but unmarketable log (note the twist). Robbins took a break from the industry for several years but returned because of her love of working outdoors and the wages. Her "assistant" is one of several young people sponsored by Interfor as part of its "Young Forest Worker Program." Through the program young men and women are introduced to a number of different aspects of the industry, with the hope that people like this young man will find a "fit" in one of the jobs he gets to experience.
